The Loudoun Heritage Farm Museum is pleased to offer classes, programs, and guided tours for your students. Our exhibits support the Virginia Standards of Learning and can accom-modate studies in science, technology, history, and social sciences. All classes are $5.00 per student and $1.00 per chaperone/teacherand last approximately 1 hour.

(Grades pre-K-4) Learn about American Indian history as well as the current recognized tribes of modern Virginia. The program includes discussion of archeology, demonstrations of American Indian tools, a tour of the Museum's American Indian artifact collection, and hands-on activities. TIME FOR CHANGE

(Grades 1-4) Seasonal. Be a scientist for the day and observe, explore, and experiment! Learn about how farmers have used plants in the past, and extend your class with take-home projects we provide.

SIMPLE MACHINES

(Grades 1-3) Discover the simple machines that have made daily chores easier for farmers. Students will also be asked to design their own simple and complex machines to solve some everyday challenges on the farm!

HANDS ON HISTORY

Science: 4.8
(Grades 4-6) Tour the museum’s exhibits and learn the fundamentals of archaeology, history, and museum practice. Students will discover how museums and historic sites preserve history and how they can protect their own heritage. Ask about HANDS ON HISTORY OUTREACH!

EXTRA PLAYTIME

Groups of 30 students or less can enjoy an extra 30 minutes of playtime to explore all of our interactive exhibits for a $35 flat fee. Must be booked in advance.
